Green Build and Energy Star® Techniques
We at Brian Grainger Construction take into consideration the
importance of the homes we build for our customers. We build a
solidly constructed home that lasts through generations and stands the
test of time. We feel the same dedication of importance to the solid
future of our natural resources and the environment. That is why we
are implementing Green Build and Energy Star® techniques as we build
our homes for you.
Recycling
- We recycle an estimated 5.2 tons of cardboard per year. At Brian
Grainger Construction, we breakdown and compact the cardboard before
sending it on through local recycling. The cardboard packaging comes
from our appliances, cabinets, plumbing fixtures, windows, etc.
- We recycle 100% of our aluminum waste products.
- We recycle scrap lumber.
- All steel banding is recycled.
- We estimate that we have cut down on all of our construction waste
by 50%, reducing our annual waste products shipped to the landfill.
- We continue to monitor and look for innovative ways of improving our
recycling and waste program.
Energy
- Energy use in our homes is cut by as much as 60% using Energy Star®
techniques and practices.
- You will find reduced air infiltration, improved insulation, high
performance Andersen Windows, 2 x 6 exterior walls, energy efficient
heating and cooling equipment, providing you a significant annual
savings in your utility bills.
- The benefits of Energy Star® Grainger built homes is lower utility
